The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is the entry level qualification to the makeup industry. You will learn a range of skills under the guidance of our industry experts to start a career within the dynamic cosmetic retail environment.  

The course has been designed for those wanting to develop skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetics products to an industry standard. It consists of 15 subject areas providing you with the skills and knowledge to operate within a cosmetic retail environment.

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is a gateway course into working in a vibrant and exciting industry and will give you all the starting techniques and knowledge to proceed into the world of makeup artistry.

Face-to-face classroom learning aims to support the development of practical skills required to meet industry relevant outcomes.

School based students will attend 1 day per week 9am – 4pm.  Models may be required for specific assessments.

Through our AACM Alumni Community we provide ongoing opportunities for work experience, employment, networking and lifelong learning. We continue to mentor and support graduates, opening up our industry network, contacts and opportunities. AACM Alumni receive special offers on AACM courses and continue to receive discounts and benefits from our industry partners.

The Alumni Community is providing our graduates a platform to discuss techniques, share their experience, enhance their network, connect with members, publish news and to share job opportunities where available. AACM is regularly contacted for work experience and paid opportunities and we advertise these exclusively to our Alumni Community.

To achieve the Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics, a total of 15 units must be completed. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Package rules of this qualification. Models may be required for assessments. Models can be family or friends, they are not required to be professional models.

Your Payment Options

The interest free payment option for you paying your course off while you are studying. After deducting any applicable enrolment deposit from the total course fees, you can opt to pay in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments. Our standard payment plans are designed to pay off your course fees over the duration of your course so you can graduate debt free.

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.

You may receive a subsidy towards your certificate II qualification if you:

  • Are assessed as a disadvantaged learner that faces barriers to training participation and requires additional support prior to enrolment in a certificate III vocational qualification
  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don’t currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

 

Non-concessional fees:

If you are eligible, you will pay the following student co-contribution fee towards your course fees:

After paying the $200 deposit, the remaining student co-contribution of $1 560 can be paid in 52 weekly installments of $30 each.

 

Concessional fees:

If you are eligible, you will pay the following student co-contribution fee towards your course fees:
