The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is the entry level qualification to the makeup and beauty industry. You will learn a range of skills to begin a career within the dynamic beauty retail environment.

This course has been designed for those wanting to develop the skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetic products to an industry standard.

Start any time with our flexible delivery options. The flexible mode of delivery maximises practical skill development in an operational beauty salon. Students will attend the campus for practical workshops, which will include demonstrations by industry experts, hands on practical experience and undertaking the assessable practical observations. Students participate in online learning activities for the knowledge learning with the support of a trainer and assessor.
The course duration is 30 actual teaching & workshop weeks. Including term breaks and other holiday breaks such as the Christmas period, the total course duration may vary and be up to 8 months. Students may progress through the course quicker and shorten their study duration accordingly.

The Australian Academy of Australian Makeup continues to support students after their studies are complete. Through the AACM Alumni Network we provide ongoing opportunities for work experience, employment and networking. Our trainers also continue to mentor past students.
If you are a trainee, we can work with you and your employer to develop a training plan, delivering and assessing your skills and issue you with a statement of attainment and qualification. Eligable trainees have the opportunity to receive funding through the Queensland Government User Choice program.

As a trainee, you may be eligible to receive $2,685 ($3,580 for priority groups) funding towards your tuition fees, whilst only paying your co-contribution fee of $656 directly to us. Please call us to discuss your unique situation and how we can assist you in your traineeship to get qualified and take advantage of the User Choice Program and related funding opportunities.
The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate III Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.
- Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
- Living in Queensland full time
- Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
- And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
Student eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee program will received funding of $2,432 as non-consessional student and you will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $2,068.
Students eligible for concessional funding will receive $3,040 and will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $1,460. You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
The student co-contribution fee can be paid directly to AACM using one of our weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment plan options. Our campus staff can talk you through the available options. Please refer to our course fee, withdrawal and refund policy in our policy section.

The interest free, surcharge free payment option for you. After deducting your 10% = $450 enrolment deposit from the total course fees, the following standard payment options are available to you.
Weekly: 26 Instalments $156 each
Fortnightly: 13 Instalments $312 each
Monthly: 6 Instalments $675 each

After deducting your enrolment deposit from the course fees, you may be able to tailor your repayments flexibly to fit your personal circumstances and affordability.
