This course has been designed for those wanting to develop skills and knowledge to understand how the beauty industry operates and ensure graduates are salon ready upon completion.
Students can chose between two streams, a specialisation in Beauty services for those who want to continue their career in the beauty services industry. And a specialisation in Makeup for students wanting to specialise in Makeup and becoming a makeup artist.
The Beauty Services specialisation is providing a pathway into our Diploma of Beauty Therapy. The Makeup specialisation is providing a pathway into our Diploma of Cinemagraphic Makeup and Diploma of Screen and Media.

Start any time with our flexible delivery options. The flexible mode of delivery maximises practical skill development in an operational beauty salon. Students will attend the campus for practical workshops, which will include demonstrations by industry experts, hands on practical experience and undertaking the assessable practical observations. Students participate in online learning activities for the knowledge learning with the support of a trainer and assessor.
The course duration is 45 actual teaching & workshop weeks. Including term breaks and other holiday breaks such as the Christmas period, the total course duration may vary and be up to 1 year. Students may progress through the course quicker and shorten their study duration accordingly.

This qualification consists of 15 units of competency. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Package rules of this qualification. Students have the choice of electives by selecting either the Beauty stream or Makeup stream depending on where their interests are. The Certificate III in Beauty Services is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate III Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.
- Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
- Living in Queensland full time
- Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
- And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
Student eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee program will received funding of $2,280 as non-consessional student and you will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $4,420.
Students eligible for concessional funding will receive $3,040 and will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $3,660. You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
The student co-contribution fee can be paid directly to AACM using one of our weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment plan options. Our campus staff can talk you through the available options. Please refer to our course fee, withdrawal and refund policy in our policy section.

The interest free, surcharge free payment option for you. After deducting your 10% = $670 enrolment deposit from the total course fees, the following standard payment options are available to you.
Weekly: 26 Instalments $232 each
Fortnightly: 13 Instalments $464 each
Monthly: 6 Instalments $1,005 each
If our Standard Payment Plan options are not suitable for you or you may not be eligible for Study Loans, we may be able to set you up with a personalised payment plan option. After deducting your enrolment deposit from the course fees, you may be able to tailor your repayments flexibly to fit your personal circumstances and affordability. Your may set your own weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayment amount, paying on an extended payment duration. Have in mind, that we won’t be releasing your portfolio, statement of attainment or qualification until your course is paid off.
