Theory elements of each unit will be completed online under the guidance of our expert trainers. You will have access to industry relevant and interactive learning materials via Canvas, our online learning portal.  This will enable you to study at your own pace.

You will attend the campus for practical block training sessions to develop your practical skills and for observation of treatment services on paying clients.  Attendance at the block sessions is a compulsory requirement as it ensures completion of the minimum 120h in-salon training hours required for this course.

To achieve the Certificate III in Beauty Services, a total of 15 units must be completed. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Package rules of this qualification.

We have an operational training salon that you will attend for block sessions where you treat paying clients under the guidance of highly skilled and industry-current trainers. This provides our students with the opportunity to develop skills to industry standards and improves employability outcomes.

What is required?

You can use your own makeup and equipment or buy from one of our recommended suppliers. AACM can provide you with more details and can recommend suppliers. Each supplier offers Afterpay or Zip Pay options also. 

Additional resources are required to successfully complete all assessments and obtain your qualification.

The Certificate III in Beauty Services  is priced at $120 on a weekly basis including access to our learning portal, learning materials and online support. Please note, makeup products and student kits are not included and will need to be purchased in addition.

We refer to this as our subscription model, where you pay as you go while studying. The course fees can be paid by direct debit from a bank account or credit card.

The Certificate III in Beauty Services is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.

You may receive a subsidy towards your certificate III qualification if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
  • And don’t currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training).

 

Non-concessional fees:

If you are eligible, you will pay the following student co-contribution fee towards your course fees:

The student co-contribution of $3 900 can be paid in 52 weekly instalments of $75 each.
