Introduction to Prosthetics


Want to learn how to create prosthetic noses or fairy ears? Are you interested in cosplay and pop culture conventions?

Study the Introduction to Prosthetic course at AACM! No experienced required just a fascination for SPFX. All resources will be supplied. This is a great introduction and opportunity to develop skills to enable entry into the Prosthetics unit from the Diploma course.

The Introduction to Prosthetics is a short workshop designed to teach you the skills and techniques to create your own facial prosthetics. This course is perfect for those interested in SPFX makeup, but with no prior experience.

You will learn how to cast, mould and manufacture your own prosthetics for use in cosplay, costume, film and television. This course is available for anyone 14+ and will help develop your skills to enable entry into the Prosthetics unit in the Diploma Course.

Manufacturing and painting silicon prosthetics

This course runs for four days in a block, 9am - 4pm each day.

There are no prerequisites for this course, however a basic makeup skill set is preferred.

All learning materials and resources are provided. A model will be required twice throughout the course for practical application.

This is a short course with no unit of compenency or assessment requirements. All students will receive a Certificate of Attendance in the Introduction to Prosthetics course. This is not a nationally recognised qualification, however it will provide students with an introductory skillset.
