This is what our Makeup Fundamentals course all about
Makeup Fundamentals is AACM’s bespoke course for those wanting to master the foundations of makeup application through online learning. Our virtual classroom with live practical sessions and professional video content allows you to develop the skills and knowledge at your own pace. Pick the brains of your online trainer and get expert feedback in real time with ease in our limited class sizes.
You will learn a wide range of techniques including how to: perform makeup consultations, correctly analyse face shapes and features, identify skin types and contra-indications, cleansing and skin prep and understand the principles of colour. You’ll also be taught a variety of looks including day and evening makeup looks.

This is what you will learn
You will learn a wide range of techniques including how to perform makeup consultations, correctly analyse face shapes and features, colour theory, as well as skin types and cleansing. You’ll also be taught a variety of evening makeup looks, including the classics like a smokey eye, winged eyeliner, and red lips. - There are no formal entry requirements.

- Tuition fees are $480 and can be paid upfront, using Afterpay or on our interest-free payment plans.
- VET Student Loans (VLS) is not available for short courses.

- You will need your own makeup. We can provide you with a detailed kit lists with supplier options to purchase the products you need. Each supplier offers Afterpay or Zip Pay options also.
- Usually 4 weeks. You can study at your own pace
- To be able to practice your makeup looks and to complete the assessments (if you opt to complete any assessments), models are needed.
- Models can be family or friends, they are not required to be professional models.
- The Makeup Fundamentals course is taught online and you will have access to learning materials via our online learning portal, Canvas LMS. You will mainly learn at your own pace when it suits you, and we will give you some guide rails and time frames to ensure you stay on track.
- Any current desktop, tablet or mobile phone to access our learning platform. We highly recommend to have a desktop or laptop as your main device.
- Reliable internet connection, suitable to watch videos
- Models to practice on, for example friends or family members
- A safe and well-lit workstation, including a mirror to practice
