This makeup short course is the ideal course for those wanting to master the basics of makeup application. During this course you will learn a wide range of techniques including how to perform makeup consultations, how to correctly analyse face shapes and features, colour theory, as well as skin types and cleansing.
This is a practical based course, where you will learn a variety of evening makeup looks, including the classics like smokey eye, winged liner and red lips. Day makeup looks cover nude tones and natural colours to softly enhance the features. Students also receive a professional makeup brush kit to ensure they are ready for the makeup industry.

You’ll also be taught a variety of evening makeup looks, including the classics like a smokey eye, winged liner, and red lips. Day Makeup looks cover nude tones and natural colours to softly enhance the features.

We will cover the following topics:

Face shapes and features Basic day makeup Applying makeup Colour principles
Makeup plan Evening makeup Smokey eyes + red lips Strip false eyelashes
Individual eyelashes Preparing the client Consultation Skin type and condition
Facial cleansing Suitable products Tools and equipment  
The standard version of this course runs over five days, from 9-4pm each day. Sometimes we are running an accelerated version over 4 days from 8:30am - 5pm, please check which version is offered in the section Start Dates & Enrolment above.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

All learning materials and resources are provided and students will receive a professional brush kit. On the final two days of the course, 4 models are required for practical assessments to obtain a statement of attainment.

This is an nationally recognised short course and on successful completion students will receive a statement of attainment for unit SHBBMUP002 - Design and apply make-up. For more information about this unit of competency, please visit training.gov.au
