The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is the entry level qualification to the makeup industry. You will learn a range of skills under the guidance of our industry experts to start a career within the dynamic cosmetic retail environment.  

The course has been designed for those wanting to develop skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetics products to an industry standard. It consists of 15 core subject areas providing you with the skills and knowledge to operate within a cosmetic retail environment.

The course allows you to study at your own pace with self-directed online learning, using our learning platform under the guidance of an expert trainer.

Start any time with our online delivery option. Theory elements of each unit will be completed online under the guidance of our expert trainers. Plan for up to 7 hours of self-paced online studies per week.  Practical components and observations will be completed in a simulated environment.  You will be required to video your application of skills and knowledge for each specific assessment.  Some assessment activities will also be conducted in a live classroom situation.  Models may be required for specific assessments.

To achieve the Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics, a total of 15 units must be completed. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Package rules of this qualification. What is required?

To participate in this course, you will require makeup products and equipment.

You can use your own makeup and equipment or buy from one of our recommended suppliers. AACM can provide you with more details and can recommend suppliers. Each supplier offers Afterpay or Zip Pay options also. 

Additional resources are required to successfully complete all assessments and obtain your qualification.

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is priced at $50 on a weekly basis including access to our learning portal, learning materials and online support. Please note, makeup products and student kits are not included and will need to be purchased in addition.

We refer to this as our subscription model, where you pay as you go while studying. The course fees can be paid by direct debit from a bank account or credit card.

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.

You may receive a subsidy towards your certificate II qualification if you:

  • Are assessed as a disadvantaged learner that faces barriers to training participation and requires additional support prior to enrolment in a certificate III vocational qualification
  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don’t currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

 

Non-concessional fees:

If you are eligible, you will pay the following student co-contribution fee towards your course fees:

After paying the $200 deposit, the remaining student co-contribution of $1 560 can be paid in 52 weekly installments of $30 each.

 

Concessional fees:
